German retail investor protection legislation (Kleinanlegerschutzgesetz) comes into force in July 2015

The federal counsel of Germany approved the retail investor protection bill on its meeting on 12 June 2015. The bill now goes to the Federal President for signing. As a consequence, the bill comes into force early/mid-July 2015. The German retail investor protection legislation provides for more detailed and up-to-date information for investors and restrictions on distribution (especially in advertising) for providers of investment products.
